Fishguard and Goodwick are the twin towns at the heart of North Pembrokeshire.<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>

Fishguard is a small coastal town with two small supermarkets and family-run shops and businesses. There is a choice of hotels, pubs, restaurants and cafes with several pubs providing entertainment at weekends.<\/p>\n

The town provides many superb walks including the Marine Walk which forms part of the 186 mile coastal path and has outstanding coastal views.\u00a0 For details of circular walks in the area and to print off maps visit The Pembrokeshire Coast National\u00a0 Park<\/a> website.\u00a0 Guided historic walks of the area are also provided by North Pembrokeshire Tours.<\/a><\/p>\n

Bike routes in the County can be viewed on Pembrokeshire County Council<\/a> website.<\/p>\n

A variety of music festivals are held in the town annually including the brilliant Folk Music Festival held over the late May Bank Holiday; the renowned International Classical Music Festival – Mid July and regular live music events throughout the year in local pubs and the “Peppers\".<\/p>\n

There\u2019s always plenty to do in North Pembrokeshire whether adventuring with sailing, kayaking, coasteering or hiking to sitting on a beach with an icecream!<\/p>\n

For rainy days there\u2019s the gym, swimming pool, and Theatr Gwaun\u2019s digital cinema.<\/p>\n

With Stena Line ferries sailing twice a day to Rosslare in Ireland, Fishguard is a favourite stop off point before crossing the Irish Sea.<\/p>\n

The area is famous as the location of ‘The Last Invasion of Britain’ when in 1797 French troops landed nearby. The invasion is commemorated by a tapestry which is on display at the “Last Invasion Gallery\" in the Town Hall. Entry is free.<\/p>\n

Goodwick Beach, a winner of the ‘Seaside Award’, is a favourite with families and the Ocean Lab on the Parrog has a cyber cafe, coffee shop, a soft play area and tourist information centre. The beautiful beaches of Newport, Cwm Yr Eglwys, Whitesands and many more are a short drive or bus ride away.<\/p>\n

The lifeboat is based in the harbour and seals and dolphins are sometimes seen in the bay but are more numerous just off the coast. Local boat trips are also provided by North Pembrokeshire Tours<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lower Town, in Welsh ‘Y Cwm’, is the old port of Fishguard.\u00a0 Local fishermen and pleasure boats add to the attraction and there is a cafe, pub and yacht club (open to non members). This is a great location for crabbing.<\/p>\n

The Gwaun Valley is situated a few miles inland. The wooded valley is ideal for walking or cycling.\u00a0 This is also the location of Dyffryn Arms – Bessies pub.\u00a0 You can continue over moorland to the Preseli Hills and climb to the highest point in Pembrokeshire, Foel Cwm Cerwyn, where on a clear day you can see Snowdonia to the north and Ireland to the west.<\/p>\n

Trek through some of the most spectacular scenic routes the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park has to offer with Havard Riding Stables, Dinas.<\/a><\/p>\n

Discover dolphins, seals, puffins and other migrating and nesting seabirds\u00a0 of the Pembrokeshire islands with Voyages of Discovery\u00a0<\/a>based in St Davids.<\/p>\n

The younger members of\u00a0 your party will certainly enjoy Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo<\/a> and Heatherton World of Activities.<\/a><\/p>\n

The only way to truly experience the incredible scenery is to pull on those sturdy boots, pack your lunch and head out on to the\u00a0Pembrokeshire Coast Path<\/a>.\u00a0 Its a good idea to make use of the\u00a0 Strumble Shuttle,\u00a0 to cover longer distances or the new Fflecsi bus<\/a>.<\/p>\n
